Self-Tie Class – Back to the Basics

Thursday, 6 November 2025, 20:00–21:30 • Duration: 1.5 hours

€15.00

Back to the Basics — Self-Tie Class Level up your self-tie foundations with a focused, hands-on session. We’ll revisit core rope skills and apply basic suspension principles in a low, controlled way so you can build safer, more stable structures on your own body.

You’ll learn
• How suspension load works (anchors, rope paths, friction, load-sharing, vector/line management) — applied for self-tying.
• How to design and tie your own stable upper harness (fit, tensioning, strap placement, lock-offs, load lines).
• Bottom harnesses: practical climber’s-harness variations (waist/hip/thigh support, connection points) and the mermaid harness (leg bind, stability & comfort tweaks).
• Safety essentials: nerve-awareness (radial/ulnar/peroneal), monitoring while self-tying, bailout planning, cutting tool use. Prerequisites
• Solid single-column and double-column ties. Bring • 6–8 ropes (5–6 mm, ~7–8 m; jute/hemp preferred, any clean rope ok)
• Safety shears/cutter • Comfortable clothing, water, optional yoga mat/kneepads
• (Optional) ring/carabiners if you already use them — not required

Open to all bodies and genders. Consent and self-care come first; you’re your own best spotter in self-tie. • Limited spots; reserve early
