Becoming a Paid Rope Model at AthenShibari
At AthenShibari, we believe that rope modeling is a skill.
A great rope model doesn’t simply receive rope— they actively contribute to the safety, quality, and educational value of every class.
Being a paid model means becoming part of the teaching team. You help create a better learning experience for students while ensuring that both you and the rigger can work safely and confidently.
To qualify as a paid rope model, you should have:
Completed the Introduction to Rope Modeling class.
Completed the Rope Risks & Safety class.
At least one year of regular class experience.
Completed at least two Advanced classes in private sessions with one of the rope teachers.
A good understanding of your own body and how it responds in rope.
Strong communication skills, including the confidence to speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
The ability to guide, support, and communicate with the teacher or spotter whenever needed.
A rope model is not a passive participant.
Your knowledge, awareness, and experience are just as valuable as technical rope skills. Investing in your education doesn’t just make you a better model—it makes every class safer, more enjoyable,
and more rewarding for everyone involved.
