Join us for a focused, in-depth workshop exploring the technical and emotional potential of the traditional 2-rope gote (box tie). This class is designed for riggers and bottoms who want to deepen their understanding of the tie’s components, mechanics, and purpose—both practically and relationally.
🧷 Overview
This class aims to explore the components and functions of a traditional 2-rope gote in order to develop a deeper understanding of its mechanics. By studying the structure and intent behind each part of the harness, riggers and bottoms can make more informed decisions, increase safety, and build more sustainable and intentional rope scenes.
Our presenter bring their personal rope dynamic into the space, emphasizing not only proficiency but also the emotional impact and purpose behind the tie.
📚 Prerequisites
This is an intermediate+ level class. It is not suitable for those tying or being tied in a gote/box tie for the first time.
Participants must be confident and experienced with:
-Single and double column ties
-Square/reef knots and granny knots
-Rope handling, tension, and body manipulation
-Reverse tension
-Safe upline handling and bamboo lock-offs
⚠️ Please note: Rope play—and gote ties in particular—carry inherent risks. All participants are expected to have basic knowledge of nerve safety and risk-aware practices.

-Yuki fix / Yuki knot

-Understanding the why behind the harness—what it offers physically and emotionally
🧰 What to Bring
10–12 pieces of rope (7–8m each) – natural fiber preferred but not required
Comfortable clothing (arms uncovered for tying recommended)

💸 Pricing
€100 per couple for a single day
€180 per couple for both days of ws
Single participants may be able to pair up upon prior communication—contact us in advance if you're looking for a tying partner.
