Hourai Kasumi in Athens — March 2027

AthenShibari is proud to welcome Hourai Kasumi, one of Japan’s leading female kinbakushi, back to Athens for a special performance and two full days of workshops.

Kasumi-san’s distinctive wabi-sabi style combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with Seme-nawa, eroticism, suffering, beauty and deep communication through rope. Her teaching offers participants the opportunity to explore not only technique, but also the cultural and aesthetic subtleties of Japanese kinbaku.

Day 1 — All Levels

13:00–15:30 | Gote

• Gote structure

• Adapting the Gote to different bodies

• Additional ropes for function and decoration

16:00–18:30 | Floor Work & Seme

• Seme (erotic torture) without suspension

• Creating deep communication with only a few ropes

• Working with the model’s body and aesthetics

Prerequisite: You should be comfortable tying a single-column tie.

Day 2 — Intermediate

13:00–15:30 | Partial Suspension

• Partial suspension techniques

• Gote and hip-based suspensions

• Seme using a single rope after partial suspension

16:00–18:30 | Full Suspension

• Full suspension and variations

• Playing and transitioning in the air

• Creating more beautiful and three-dimensional suspensions

Prerequisites: Experience with partial/full suspensions, knowledge of locking suspension lines on bamboo, and at least 8 × 8m ropes.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the workshop begins.
